The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) represents over 90 Canadian public and private not-for-profit universities and university-degree level colleges. The website contains links to all Canadian universities.
The Council of Ontario Universities (COU) represents the interests of Ontario's 20 universities and the Royal Military College. COU produces a number of higher education publications and reports that are available on the website.
The site also includes links to Ontario universities and the Ontario University Application Centre and hosts the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance (the Quality Council) - an arm’s length body designed to ensure rigorous quality assurance of university undergraduate and graduate programs.
Statistics Canada collects information on a host of higher education issues including enrolments, degrees granted, faculty numbers, faculty salaries, and tuition levels. Through a number of surveys StatCan produces various research and analytical reports in the higher education area.

 United States

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is a professional association of more than 4,000 institutional researchers, planners, and decision-makers from higher education institutions around the world. IPEDS (Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), established as the core postsecondary education data collection program for NCES, is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education.
Through its student survey NSSE annually collects information at hundreds of four-year colleges and universities about student participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development. The results provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending university.


The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has a Policy and Research arm that provides an array of reports and analyses on topics of interest to the IR community. On the ACU homepage go to “Key Strengths” and then to “Research and policy analysis”.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development provides comparative information about higher education systems. From the main homepage go to “Topics” and then “Education”.
